Girls Competitive Team
OC Gymnastics has a girls competitive team led by Head Coach Kathy Morgan and AJ Parrott. The team practices 2 to 4 days a week – M, T, W, Th, and Sat. The team competitive season starts January and ends in May. Typically, the team competes in 4 local meets, State, and Regionals.
Our Team girls compete in the USA Gymnastics Xcel program. This program was designed to allow girls to compete in optional level routines without having to train as many hours or with as much intensity as the Junior Olympic Optional Program.
Girls attend 2 to 4 days a week depending on their assigned level. Levels include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Bronzes practice from 6PM to 8PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. (Saturday practices are optional for Bronzes.) Silvers and up practice from 5:30 till 8:15 on Mondays through Thursdays and 11:00 till 2:00 on Saturdays. (Minimum 2 days a week)
Girls will compete in meets against kids from other gyms to win both individual and team awards. Commitment is for the entire competitive season and involves signing a team contract and paying additional fees for the meets and uniforms.
Pre-Team classes are a prerequisite for the competitive team for younger kids. After they acquire the skills necessary to move up to the team, the moving up of levels typically occurs in May.
